A terminally ill mum has thanked Bridlington Round Table for their kind donation which will help pay toward a holiday to Disneyland Paris.
The Echo exclusively revealed the sad story of Ashleigh Ellerton last month after she was diagnosed with cancer and has been given just three years to live. She hopes to raise funds to help make memories for her husband and her four children.
Ashleigh spoke of her determination for her and her husband Simon’s wish to make happy memories for their four children and a GoFundMe page was set up by Ashleigh’s mum last month.

“It is the worst news anyone could have. Me and my husband Simon want to make as many memories as we can with our children – something for them to ‘remember me by.” explained Ashleigh.
Ashleigh, aged 27, added: ”I just want to make the most of the years I have left with my beautiful children Bella, Rory, Brody and Luca.”

After hearing of Ashleigh’s story, the big hearted members of the Bridlington Round Table have helped boost the appeal with a wonderful donation of £1000.
Ashleigh, 27, says: “It’s wonderful to get this money and we want to say a big thank you to Bridlington Round Table. It means the world to us all to be able to do this.”
The donation has been used to pay for accommodation at Disneyland Paris for the family and they will be making the trip over to France later this year.
Sam Berridge from Bridlington Round Table explained: “This was such a worthy cause to donate to, and we all hope that the family have a fantastic time in Disneyland Paris.”
A Fundraising Day in aid of Ashleigh’s appeal will be held on Sunday 18 September at the Victoria Sailors WMC on Cliff Street in Bridlington town centre. There will be a raffle, an auction as well as entertainment for all the family. Top vocalist Gary Marsden will also be on stage from 8.pm.
