The local branch of The Salvation Army in Bridlington is appealing to the community for help this Christmas — with a plea for toys and gifts for older children and teenagers. As the festive season approaches, volunteers say they have already collected many items for younger children but are short of suitable gifts for the older age group.
In a message to the public, they ask: if you are able to donate anything from “smellies, make-up, skin-care, bags, building sets, craft items … or even Christmas-style food” — anything to bring a bit of joy to families in need, it would be much appreciated.
Donations can be dropped off at the Salvation Army Hall on Wellington Road, or by arrangement through messenger. The full address is:
The Salvation Army, 18 Wellington Road, Bridlington, YO15 2BG.
The charity says that Christmas can be a tough time for many people, and they are keen to make sure as many families as possible receive a gift this year. Even small items will help — the kindness of the community can make a real difference.
They are especially looking to help older children and teens. If you can help, please drop off gifts on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday morning (or contact them for an alternative drop-off). Every donation helps, and the Salvation Army team in Bridlington thanks everyone in advance.
