Residents are being encouraged to roll up their sleeves and help make Bridlington cleaner and tidier as Brightening Up Bridlington (BUB) prepares for its third Community Clean Up Day on Saturday, 18th July, starting at 10am.

This latest community initiative will focus on streets around Wellington Road, Haslemere Avenue, Travis Street, St George’s Avenue and Vernon Road, where volunteers will work together to remove unwanted rubbish, bulky waste and fly-tipped items.
In the lead-up to the event, the Community Safety Partnership team will be visiting homes across the area, speaking with residents and delivering information leaflets to encourage as many neighbours as possible to get involved.

On the day, BUB volunteers, easily recognisable in their high-visibility clothing, will work in pairs collecting unwanted items from pavements and front gardens, helping residents safely dispose of items they no longer need. A skip has now been approved and will be positioned at the junction of Wellington Road and St George’s Avenue, which will also serve as the meeting point for volunteers before the clean-up begins.
Organisers say the clean-up is about more than removing rubbish—it’s about bringing communities together, tackling fly-tipping, improving neighbourhood pride and making local streets cleaner for everyone.

Residents living in the targeted areas are invited to take advantage of the opportunity by placing unwanted items out for collection and joining the volunteer team on the day.
