The Brightening Up Bridlington voluntary group ended their litter-picking season on a high note, embracing the community spirit in time for Christmas.

On their final pick of the year, the group, affectionately known as the “Bridlington Wombles,” collected an impressive 20 bags of litter from the Old Town area.
And in a heartwarming gesture of appreciation, they were presented with a thoughtful thank-you gift from Becks at the Old Town Apothecary, located at 64a High Street.

Martyn Coltman, leader of the voluntary group, said:“It’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for us in 10 years of litter picking.
“A million thanks to Becks for such a kind thought.”

The business is known for its stunningly preserved Victorian interior, offers a wide array of unique and bespoke merchandise.
After a successful year of litter picking service, the group is already gearing up for their return in January, where they plan to tackle the litter around Bessingby Rail Bridge once again.

Martyn added, “We would like to wish a very happy and peaceful festive season to everyone who follows us, and huge thanks to Pete and the team at ERYC Street Scene for collecting our full bags every month.”
The Brightening Up Bridlington voluntary group has continued to make a positive impact on the local environment, demonstrating the power of community action.
