The Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team was called out to reports of two missing children this afternoon (18 August)
Here are the details.
‘Team paged by Humber Coastguard to assist the RNLI Lifeguards in a search for a missing child on the south beach.
On the way to the beach the team received information that the child had been found but we were to continue proceeding as there was another six-year-old missing in the same location.
On arrival a detailed description was obtained from the RNLI Lifeguards and the team started to search the beach.
Our knowledge of previous missing children in the same location suggested that we searched form the lifeguard hut towards Belvedere.
Minutes in to the search the Coastguard team located the child and transported them to the lifeguard hut and reunited the child with their mum.”
