Flamborough Lifeboat was launched at 23:22 last night following a request from HM Coastguard to assist a 40-foot yacht which had suffered a total loss of power.

Upon arrival, the volunteer crew assessed the situation and determined that the yacht required assistance to restart its engine. Crew members boarded the vessel and successfully restored power, enabling the yacht to continue its passage safely.

The lifeboat and volunteer crew returned to South Landing at 01:19. Following recovery, both the lifeboat and launching tractor were cleaned, refuelled and made ready for service by the lifeboat and shore crew, ensuring operational readiness for the next callout.
