East Riding County League – Premier Division

On a day made for football, blue skies, a slight north easterly wind, plus a bit of moisture in the ground – both teams got off to a quick start at the Queensgate stadium.

Sadly for Telegraph, Lyle Bogle to had go off after 4 minutes with a slight knock.

With Buxton now on the pitch and an extra yard in the middle, Telegraph were able to snatch a goal back after Cave had taken an early 1-0 lead.

A pass through the middle saw ‘Graphs’s Danny Anderson take a difficult ball which led to a well finished goal.

Telegraph went into the second half 2-1 down and put in a strong first 20 minutes, but with the pitch starting to get heavy and having no more players to substitute tired legs the pace slowed.

Cave took advantage of a weary Telegraph with three further second-half goals sealing the victory for the visitors.

The final whistle came and the game finished 5-1.
