Meet the new ‘Mini Mayor of Bridlington Old Town’ who will lead the traditional lantern parade along the historic streets of the Old Town.
Nine-year-old Ruby Beaden has been appointed this year’s Destination Old Town Mini Mayor and will head up the walk on Saturday 26 November.

Hundreds of people are expected to take part and witness the spectacular event which will commence at 5.30pm with the starting point at the Black Lion pub.

The assembled parade will then walk down the historic High Street with participants carrying their intricate creations aloft to the Priory.
They will then parade around the church green and then head back to the Queen’s Pub to continue with music and merriment.
Joy Verda, who is organising the event, said: “Any enquiries about creating a lantern and lantern making, please call in at the Alex May Gallery on High Street. Workshops will also take place in the run-up to the event.”

After the event, some of the lanterns will be placed in the Priory for viewing during their Advert Fair which is being held on November 29 and will be lit during the evening service which commences at 6.30pm and will include music and readings during the Advent Service.
