Three lifelong friends from Bridlington are preparing to push themselves to the absolute limit as they take on an extraordinary feat of endurance — all in the name of men’s health.
From Big Ben in central London to the lighthouse at Flamborough Head, Joe Leslie, Josh Bowles and Mitchell Collins will run an incredible 212 miles in just four days, raising funds and awareness for Movember UK. The trio, who have already completed gruelling charity challenges — including a 72-mile run in just 24 hours — say they are stepping things up to a new level in 2025.
The challenge is set to begin at 6 a.m. on 26 November, when Joe, Josh and Mitch will set off from Westminster. Their goal: to reach their home coastline at Flamborough Head Lighthouse on 29 November — powered by determination, grit and the support of their community.
“We’re giving it everything we’ve got,” said Joe. “If our physical battle can help someone else who’s fighting a mental one, then every mile will be worth it. A huge thank you to our sponsors, who have made this challenge more manageable. Their support with accommodation means we can focus on raising awareness and funds to help stop men dying too young.”
Movember shines a spotlight on men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and testicular and prostate cancer. With suicide being the leading cause of death among men under 50 in the UK, the lads are determined to get people talking — and checking in on each other.
“Where possible, please show your support — whether that’s a motivational message, a donation, or even just sharing our story. Everything goes so much further than you realise. And don’t forget to check in on a mate.”
The trio are encouraging people to back them in any way they can and hope to see familiar faces cheering them on at the finish line at Flamborough Head Lighthouse on 29 November.
