A Bridlington volunteer has successfully completed a daring wing walk to raise vital funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Andrew Stockdale, a registered volunteer and dedicated fundraiser for the charity, took to the skies aboard a vintage aircraft at RAF Church Fenton this week after an earlier attempt was postponed due to poor weather conditions.
Andy, who has previously completed a Christmas Day dip in the North Sea and a 10,000-foot skydive for the charity, described the experience as “a ride of a lifetime”

“After a much anticipated wait for the day of the wing walk to arrive, only to be let down by the weather, I was delighted when Ethel Dares offered me the chance to do the walk on the following Monday,” he said.
“The weather was near perfect and, after a thorough briefing, I was securely strapped in and off we went. It was an absolutely thrilling ride with stunning scenery and far-reaching views.”

He added: “A big thank you to everyone who has sponsored my fundraising efforts over the years and to the team at Ethel Dares for making sure everything ran smoothly.”
Donations can still be made at: https://www.justgiving.com/page/andrew-stockdale-3. All proceeds will support Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s life-saving emergency response service across the region.
