The start of Christmas will be marked in Bridlington Old Town as the historic streets will once again be staging tradition Christmas events and musical entertainment during the day and early evening of Sunday 1st December.

After the success of the Vintage Festival in the summer, organisers ROBOT (Regeneration of Bridlington Old Town) – will be joining forces with Destination Old Town (DOT) to create a street-long Christmas Fayre and Lantern Parade.

Visitors to the Christmas Fayre will see businesses recreate the scenes of yesteryear with traditional Dickensian-style costumes and ‘olde worlde charm’ along with quirky and unique stalls within businesses and also up and down the street.

The Bridlington Priory will also be hosting an Advent Fair in the historic building on the day.

Chris Daniels, Chair of ROBOT explained: “The volunteer members of Regeneration of Bridlington Old Town are thrilled to bring some seasonal cheer to our community with our Christmas fayre event.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the joy of the season. With festive music, delicious treats, and unique gifts, there is something for everyone to enjoy, including some surprises.

“We are grateful for the support of our sponsors and vendors who have helped make this event possible. We look forward to welcoming everyone and creating lasting memories at our Christmas Fayre.”

“This year’s event will be crowned with the ever popular Lantern Walk, organised by Joy Verda and there Destination Old Town volunteers which has been well attended each year.

“Dozens of huge and some smaller amazing lanterns will be created by local people in workshops leading up to the event.” added Chris.
