Members of the Bridlington Armed Forces Veterans Coffee Morning Group celebrated a successful launch of their first short story collection, Tides & Tales, at the Bridlington Old Town Vintage Festival on Sunday, 28 June.

The 371-page anthology features 11 original works of fiction written by members of the group, covering genres including espionage, romance, murder mystery, ghost stories, time travel and adventure. The collection also includes stories by previously published authors Richard M. Jones and Kendrick Briscoe alongside several writers making their publishing debut.

Priced at £10, with all profits being donated to St Catherine’s Hospice, Scarborough, the book attracted strong interest from festival visitors throughout the day. The group sold almost half of its available stock during the event and said they were delighted by the enthusiastic response from readers and supporters.

The launch took place outside the Bridlington Echo offices as part of the popular Vintage Festival, providing an ideal opportunity to introduce the anthology to the local community.

Members of the veterans’ group thanked everyone who purchased a copy or stopped to chat, saying the support had exceeded expectations.
They hope continued sales of Tides & Tales will raise significant funds for St Catherine’s Hospice while showcasing the creativity and storytelling talents of local veterans.
