Residents living in and around the Mordacks Road and Keppel Drive area of Bridlington have been left mystified by the regular appearance of a Peahen.
The inquisitive bird has been spotted by several resident and is said to be ‘reasonably tame and friendly.’
Barry Scott, who lives on the estate said the Peahen has stayed in his garden over the last couple of nights and is always looking through the windows of his house.
Said Barry: “I have contacted Sewerby Hall and Gardens Zoo, but they said they haven’t had peahens or peacocks at the park for years.”
Park Rose and the Bridlington Animal Park at Carnaby have also been contacted and say that it is not one of theirs.
The bird has also been spotted on Keppel Drive, with one resident saying she was ‘surprised’ to see the bird strutting around her garden ‘as though it owned the place.’
