Bridlington’s popular C.R.E.A.M restaurant on High Street in Bridlington is set to move into larger premises just along the road after announcing plans to take over the former home of The Lamp Restaurant.

Owners Holly and Alex revealed the business will relocate just a few doors down from its current site after outgrowing its existing premises following two successful years.

The new restaurant, currently occupied by The Lamp, will offer customers the same menu and familiar team, but with much-needed extra space.

Announcing the move, Holly and Alex said: “After two amazing years at our current home, it’s finally time for a little more space.

“C.R.E.A.M will be moving a few doors down the street to what is currently The Lamp Restaurant. Same tasty scran, same team – just a bigger restaurant

that we are so desperately in need of.

“We’ll be working to bring our vibe to the new restaurant very soon and, as soon as we’re ready, we’ll be open.”

They confirmed there will be no interruption to trading, with a seamless handover planned.

“We’ll close in one location and open right back up in the other,” they said.

The pair also hinted that their existing premises will remain part of their plans.

“We’re not letting go of our current building either. We’ve got something else up our sleeves for that space, but you’ll have to wait a little longer to hear about that.”

Lamp Current owners Katherine and Tim, who have run The Lamp for 13 years, announced they are stepping away from the restaurant to focus on their sister business, The Georgian Tea Rooms Bridlington.

Their final day of trading will be Sunday, September 20.

They said: “After 13 amazing years we have decided to call time on The Lamp to allow us to concentrate on our sister business, The Georgian Tea Rooms Bridlington.

“Our last day of trading will be Sunday 20th September. After this our fabulous restaurant neighbours C.R.E.A.M will be taking over and we wish them every success.

“We would like to thank our brilliant team at The Lamp and everyone that has supported us over the years and helped make The Lamp such a success.”

The owners also confirmed that any unused Lamp gift vouchers after September 21 will remain valid at The Georgian Tea Rooms until their expiry date.

The move marks the end of one well-loved Bridlington restaurant while opening an exciting new chapter for another popular independent business, with Holly and Alex saying they are honoured to continue The Lamp’s legacy in a building that has played such an important role in the town’s dining scene.
