It comes after concerns over the spread of the Omnicon Covid -19 virus and the threat of further Government restrictions to outdoor events.
The hugely popular Flamborough Fire Festival has been cancelled for the second year running.
Fire Festival organiser Jane Emmerson spoke exclusively to the Echo of the difficult decision to cancel the event.
“We are so sorry to give everyone such a disappointing announcement, but we would like to thank everybody for their fantastic support for the Fire Festival.” explained Jane.
“The team and myself are very sorry to give disappointing news, but we are pleased to say that the event will return in 2022. Please keep an eye on the festival website for further details throughout the coming months.” added Jane.
Jane and the organising team went on to thank ERYC‘s event safety and advisory group, all the Fire Festival supporters and visitors from the village and beyond, donors and patrons and others who had helped to gather over a thousand signatures in support of the event.
