Beer gardens and areas outside bars and pubs around Bridlington had a steady stream of visitors as pubs reopened for the first time in several months today (April 12th).
It has been over four months since locals were able to enjoy a glass of wine or a pint of beer or a bite to eat at their favourite watering hole.
Paul Bennett, who is the manager at the Marine Bar on North Marine Drive in Bridlington, said the bar and the new open-air dining area and bar on the rooftop terrace above had been busy, receiving a constant stream of visitors throughout the day.
“It’s been great to be busy again and lots of our regulars returned again to enjoy a drink. I’m really pleased to get back to what I love doing and we have had so many compliments about the new terrace bar and the stunning views of the Flamborough Headland.”said Paul.
Despite an early chilly breeze most tables were filled with people who had not been able to enjoy dining out for months.
Along Bridlington seafront many bars had opened with new outdoor seating areas.
And the regular seafront attractions such as the Pirate Boat and Power Boat rides appeared to be doing a steady trade.
The take-aways around the harbour were also doing good business – with fish and chips and donuts being a popular choice.
