Residents across parts of Bridlington, Rudston and surrounding villages are facing major disruption after a burst water main left thousands with low water pressure or no water supply.

Yorkshire Water said customers in postcode areas YO15 3, YO16 4, YO16 7, YO25 4 and YO25 8 have been affected by the incident.
The company said the disruption has been caused by a burst main, with higher-than-usual water demand during the recent warm weather placing additional pressure on the network.
Engineers are working around the clock to repair the damaged main and stabilise the system in a bid to restore normal supplies as quickly as possible.

In response to the ongoing outage, Yorkshire Water has confirmed it will open bottled water stations, with locations to be announced shortly. Bottled water is also being delivered directly to customers registered on the company’s Priority Services Register.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “We’re sorry that some customers are currently experiencing low water pressure or no water supply. Our teams are working around the clock to repair the burst main and stabilise the network so supplies can be restored as quickly as possible.”

The company said it hopes the disruption will be short-lived but has not given a timescale for full restoration. Customers are being urged to continue checking Yorkshire Water’s website for the latest updates.
The incident follows a spell of warm weather, which has led to increased water usage across the region, adding further strain to the network while repairs are carried out.
