An appeal by local fishermen and people who work on and around the harbour has been created to help the people of Ukraine.
The Bridlington Harbour Ukraine Aid Appeal has been created by Peter Sanderson, with other local fishermen agreeing to donate a box of crabs each for the cause.

Peter said: “We are looking to organise an auction with some fabulous prizes. Coastal Shellfish are donating an all expenses paid trip to a Man Utd match.”
“We have two Tony Pockley canvases, a Lobster Hatchery tour, a family ticket for a Bempton Yorkshire Belle cruise, dinner for two and a night in Salt Hotel, two traditional crab pots for garden decoration and membership to the Coble Society.” he added.

Jo Ackers from ISC, is also helping co-ordinate the fundraiser. She added: “There will be a raffle with various prizes generously donated by local businesses. So far we have: family tickets for the Pirate Ship, speedboat and Yorkshire Belle; hampers from Four Seasons and Rafters in Driffield; seafood platters from Arnolds and Venture Seafoods; eat in fish & chips from Audreys and take out fish & chips from XL. Tickets will soon be available at shops around town.”

John Leppington of Digital Cookie Marketing has set up a facebook page and the group are looking at different fundraising ideas.
