An exciting Open Day at Bridlington Lifeboat Station, where visitors could learn more about the work of Humberside Police, Coastguard, the RNLI with other organisations was held recently.
The Rural Task Force (RTF) of Humberside Police collaborated with the Bridlington RNLI team and other partners to create a unique event where visitors could discover the important work carried out by the RTF as they combat rural crime and protect local communities.
There was also an opportunity to try out some of their specialist equipment and the RTF team demonstrated their powerful all-terrain vehicles and imaging scopes. They also provided information about their response to, prevention of, and targeting of rural crime.
Additionally, the Bridlington Neighbourhood Policing Team were present to discuss their local initiatives, answer any questions, and offer advice on how to safeguard property.
The Bridlington RNLI team also hosted an ‘open station’ where visitors viewed the Shannon Class lifeboat as the organisation celebrates its 200th anniversary.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, the Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team, the RSPCA and several other groups attended the showcase organised with help from the Humberside Police Crime Commissioner Jonathan Evison. Bridlington Gold Radio was also on hand to keep the music going and present some of the
events taking place.
