A community centre which temporarily closed its doors has now re-opened under the management of two local ladies
Manager Kate Batten and deputy manager Abigail Sturdy are welcoming ideas, event collaborations and also offer room hire to clubs and members of the local community.

The community centre currently houses Kate’s childcare business – Bridlington Childcare Service – which provides after school club for children who attend New Pasture Lane Primary School.

Kate explained: “The community centre has housed many different projects over the years including, Bingo nights, Sunday School, and Sunday Bible Service. It was also the home to New Pasture Lane Community Pre-School for 28 years.”
“The new charity team stepped on board to take over the community centre in May 2022 with the full respect of the strong community roots and foundations that the previous board members planted before them.” added Kate.

In November, the centre re-opened its doors to greet the community members of New Pasture Lane estate to ask how it could serve its community best.
Kate and Abigail are currently applying for many different types of funding to help provide furniture, new flooring and other things the community centre needs to give a positive, warm and welcoming environment to its residents of New Pasture Lane estate. The community centre wishes to promote positive mental health and support the local people however they can.
